Our Leadership Team

Since its inception, Johnston Millwork has been a family owned-business. Founded by the Johnston family in 1986, the company was purchased by the Hochstatter family in 1993. Today, Martin Duran serves as the new President of Johnston Millwork – and his own story embodies the American entrepreneurial spirit. He rose through the ranks at Johnston Millwork – starting out as a young craftsman with the Hochstatter’s, then moving on to create his own custom cabinetry shop in 2003. There, Martin perfected his craft – designing, building and finishing kitchens, entertainment centers, vanities and closets: all customized to meet each customers needs. When the opportunity arose in 2018 for Martin to return “home”, he jumped at the chance to reunite with Vice President Cheryl Hochstatter. A motorcycle driving rebel with a cause, Cheryl loves to refer to Johnston Millwork as a “32 year old start-up”. Through the sheer force of her determination and will, she has completely re-energized and re-imagined the company – building new showrooms, updating the custom and molding shops, hiring more personnel and merging with Martin’s thriving cabinet business. While Martin and Cheryl have different titles on their business cards, rest assured both leaders are spearheading a resurgent and innovative Johnston Millwork: a unique team of artisans committed to extraordinary work and customer service that is second to none.
